I'm a Molecular Biologist by day, working at the University of Toronto (Canada). I've enjoyed photography since high school, shooting with a simple rangefinder film camera. I eventually moved to digital in university with a Canon bridge camera (I wish I could have afforded a DSLR but money was so tight back then!) I used my camera mainly to document my life and travels, but my primary interests lay elsewhere until after my post graduate studies.

I picked up my first DSLR when my first child was born. Since then I have loved chasing my kids around snapping their portraits. As I gained experience with my camera, I became more interested in landscape (particularly seascape) and birding photography, providing me with relaxation and an escape from the stresses of my job and life. To this day I continue to enjoy traveling across Canada with my young family at my side: photographing, learning as I go and taking in the beauty this country has to offer.

All the galleries on this site are a "work in progress", as I continue to add, remove and edit images as I go.

Cheers,   Mike
